Alek Manoah’s dominant performance fires up Blue Jays fans

It’s been a strange journey for Alek Manoah after ending the 2022 season as a Cy Young finalist. In 2023, he just couldn’t find the mark and spent most of that season in the minors or dealing with an injury. Now, it appears the Blue Jays pitcher is here to stay after dominating the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Manoah took the mound for his third start of the season and threw for seven scoreless innings! He ended the day allowing just one hit, zero runs, one walk, and seven strikeouts. The Blue Jays pitcher let out a roar after collecting his seventh strikeout on the day. That had to feel good after Alek Manoah went through a disastrous 2023 campaign.

Blue Jays fans couldn’t help but celebrate with him when he finished the seventh inning. They cheered loudly as Alek Manoah entered the dugout and celebrated with his teammates for his dominant performance. Toronto was through the roof at the end of the seventh inning.

This is now two strong performances in a row for Alek Manoah. In his last two games Manoah has recorded an impressive 0.00 ERA with 13 strikeouts through 14 innings. Those are Cy Young type of numbers so it’ll be interesting to see if he can keep this up. The Blue Jays would largely benefit from having Manoah back to regular form as they’re currently in last place of the American League East.

Alek Manoah is projected to make his next start in late May against the Detroit Tigers. Whatever he’s doing right now is working and hopefully he can string a third dominant performance for the Blue Jays.

Alek Manoah’s journey back from a disastrous 2023 season

2023 was a year to forget for Alek Manoah. It was one of the biggest falls from grace you’ll see in baseball. He went from superstar to minor leaguer as his command was non-existent. Injuries didn’t help either. But it was just a total mess for Manoah and the Blue Jays were down a superstar pitcher all last season.

Many were unsure whether or not Alek Manoah could make a comeback just based on how bad he was last season. It’s been tough but the Blue Jays pitcher has looked great in his last two games. If he can maintain this level of play then Toronto suddenly regains a superstar on the mound which will go a long ways in their attempt to climb back up the rankings.

With that said, hopefully Alek Manoah is here to stay. Especially considering how many stud pitchers have fallen to a season-ending-injury this year.
